Energy Commission of Nigeria Hosts Strategic Management Retreat on Public Sector Reforms and ECN Act Amendment Bill

The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) hosted a two-day management retreat focused on public sector reforms and institutional realignment under the ECN Act Amendment Bill, aimed at strengthening energy governance and operational efficiency.

Held at BON Hotel Octagon, Abuja, the retreat gathered ECN’s leadership, including Directors and other senior management Staff, along with the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, and ECN Director General and CEO, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi.

Dr. Abdullahi described the retreat as a strategic platform to reposition ECN, emphasizing the Amendment Bill’s role in aligning with national goals for digital and climate-smart energy systems.

Chief Nnaji commended ECN’s reform efforts and urged the Commission to lead Nigeria’s energy transition, assuring Ministry support in line with President Tinubu’s agenda and global sustainability priorities.

Technical sessions addressed public service reforms, ECN’s operational manual, and procurement practices, with participants encouraged to propose strategies that advance the Commission’s impact in the energy sector.
