DG/CEO ECN Pays a Working Visit to IRENA
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) & IRENA National Focal Point, Prof. Eli Jidere Bala,
on Thursday, March 31, 2022, paid a working visit to the Director-General, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Mr. Francesco La Camara, at the
IRENA Headquarters, MASDAR, Abu Dhabi.
The DG/CEO was received by the IRENA, Deputy Director-General, Ms. Guari Singh, owing to Mr. La Camera’s official trip to Germany. On behalf of
Nigeria, Prof. Bala conveyed the commendation of the Honourable Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, to IRENA and discussed a number
of issues with the Deputy Director-General and her team, particularly on the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and IRENA and how to better strengthen the
relationship for more engagement with the renewable energy agency. Prof. Bala was accompanied on the visit by his technical assistant, Mr. Abdelnasser Abdallah.
